Located in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Boulder Creek Academy is a year-round therapeutic boarding school that helps adolescents aged 14 through 18 who struggle with low self-esteem, communication deficiencies, and non-verbal learning disorders. To stay current, Boulder Creek Academy belongs to several professional organizations, including the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP).

Established in 1999, the NATSAP works as a national resource for those that help young people deal with behavioral and emotional issues. The NATSAP includes professionals who work in home-based residential programs, treatment programs, and therapeutic schools. The NATSAP hosts an annual conference for their members which is typically held in January or February. The 2016 conference, which occurred on February 10 through 12 at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines in California, included general sessions, breakout sessions, and keynote speakers. Entitled Exploring the Future of Wellness, the conference included dozens of businesses highlighting their products and services. Mental health and allied health professionals of various levels came together for the three-day event to earn continuing education credits, network with other like-minded professionals, and learn about leading new methodologies. Boulder Creek Academy’s Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist presented at this conference.
